Home fires can spread rapidly, leaving occupants as little as two minutes to escape once an alarm sounds. Homeowners: If you are 60 or older, own your home, and meet low-income levels*, we can install smoke- and carbon monoxide alarms at no cost! Call 201-447-8886 or complete our Fire Safety Application. (*less than $47,000/yr for one-person household, $53,700 for two-person.)
Homeowners or renters who do not meet the above guidelines may still qualify to have 10-year lithium-battery smoke alarms installed in their home or apartment. Call 201-447-8886.
Smoke-alarm and CO-detector installations will resume in later this month spring and in the summer.
